Peach Margaritas

August 17, 2018

Margaritas and celebrations are made for each other. Today I’m celebrating much more than Friday. I’m celebrating my birthday! I’ve always enjoyed my birthday- viewing it as a metaphorical fresh start. A reminder to take more chances, try new things, live more fully. The upcoming year brings new opportunities and endless potential.

Each year is a season of growth. We learn that sometimes things don’t work out as we had hoped, but always as they should. That taking risks is scary, but always worth the courage it took to take the first step.we discover new passions and share that joy with the people we love most. Life is happening now and there is no time better than now to make a change.

I’m also celebrating the beginning of this blog- a place where we can learn and grow together, sharing our passion of delicious recipes. Let’s get this party started! Who wants a margarita? 🙋🏼

These fresh peach margaritas have a two-step process. First, we make a peach-infused simple syrup by cooking fresh peaches-is there anything better?-with equal parts sugar and water. You can press down on the peaches with the back of your spoon or spatula to help get the juice out. Your kitchen will smell amazing while they cook and you’ll begin daydreaming about all the peach things you’re going to make. No? Maybe that’s just me. Once cooked down, you’ll pour the peaches and juice through a fine strainer to separate all the juice out. This stuff is so good. I would definitely eat it with a spoon. Hey, it’s my birthday- anything goes!

You’ll want to let the peach simple syrup cool for a bit. Pop it in the fridge or freezer while you get the rest of your margarita ingredients ready. This recipe uses orange juice instead of the traditional lime juice. I needed about 6 oranges to make 3 margaritas. Throw the rest of the ingredients in a shaker and shake, shake, shake. Shake your….peach margarita.

Grab your friends, kick-back, and celebrate the weekend with these peach margaritas. They’re sweet, delicious, and perfect for summer sippin’.

Description

Peach Margaritas- Bursting with peach flavor, these peach margaritas are perfect for your summer celebrations!

Ingredients

Peach syrup (makes about 3/4 cup):

  • 1 10 oz bag frozen peaches or 2 heaping cups sliced peeled fresh peaches
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Margaritas (makes 3):

  • 6 ounces silver tequila
  • 3 ounce Grand Marnier or peach liqueur I used Raspberry Peach Grand Marnier
  • 6 ounces peach syrup see recipe below
  • 12 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice
  • sliced peaches, oranges, or raspberries for garnish

Instructions

Peach syrup (allow time to chill):

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes. Periodically press the fruit with the back of a spoon to help it cook down.
  2. Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and pour the mixture through. Lightly press on the fruit to extract all of the syrup. Cool syrup.

Margaritas:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until combined and pour into an ice filled glass (feel free to adjust ingredients to your taste preference). Garnish with sliced peaches, oranges, or raspberries.
